About the project
This initiative is building an open-access broadband network to reach as many homes across the county as possible. We use fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) where practical and fixed wireless access (FWA) where terrain or distance make fiber impractical.
How it works
We build and maintain the network infrastructure, while multiple ISPs offer service over it. Residents can choose the ISP and plan that best fit their needs, ensuring maximum flexibility and competitive options.
After installation
There's no obligation to subscribe after installation. Devices will be provisioned to match your selected plan speeds, and account self-service features are coming soon to make managing your service even easier.
Eligibility — who gets free installation?
The Government of Canada has identified areas lacking access to internet speeds of at least 50/10 Mbps. Our crews are working through these eligible zones in Yellowhead County, and while they are active in an area, residents can sign up for free installation.
Important: The free-installation window closes once our crews leave each area. Because dates vary, please sign up promptly. If your home is outside an eligible zone, you may still be able to receive service, but a standard installation fee would apply. We will confirm eligibility when you contact us.
Coverage Limitations: Homes scheduled for fiber service will be contacted directly. All other eligible homes fall within range of new wireless service, but each property must be assessed for signal strength. Free installation includes mounting the radio on the roof only. If extra height—such as a tower or other structure—is required, the landowner is responsible for providing and funding it.
